With the release of its 2022\u202fAnnual Impacts Report, Setting the Standard for Seafood<\/i><\/a>, Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) gives a thorough, easy-access analysis of measurable impacts that were made in 2022 as part being made along the course of its mission\u2014to transform aquaculture towards environmental sustainability and social responsibility.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is increasingly being recogni<\/span>s<\/span>sed that the\u202faquaculture industry must play a more active\u202frole in addressing challenges associated with\u202fthe demands of a growing human population,\u201d said Chris Ninnes, CEO of ASC. \u201cI am proud of the robust work we are carrying\u202fout within ASC to contribute and continue to\u202frefine our strategies in support of our mission.\u202fAnd we know that as a sector, we can only\u202fcontinue our positive impacts through strong\u202fcollaboration and a clear action plan.\u201d\u200b <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

2022 was a year of growth for ASC, bringing amplified awareness of the ASC label across markets, expanded uptake of the ASC programme with increased numbers of ASC certified farms, delivery of key <\/span>programme<\/span>certification<\/span> and assurance improvements, and a new executive board to steer ASC forward<\/span> into its next decade<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
