{"id":1120106,"date":"2020-08-06T16:34:51","date_gmt":"2020-08-06T14:34:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/asc-aqua.org\/?post_type=news&#038;p=120106&#038;source_id=120106&#038;target_id=1120106"},"modified":"2024-10-16T10:19:03","modified_gmt":"2024-10-16T08:19:03","slug":"call-for-stakeholder-input-on-certification-assessments","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/asc-aqua.org\/news\/call-for-stakeholder-input-on-certification-assessments\/","title":{"rendered":"Call For Stakeholder Input on Certification Assessments"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"block wysiwyg\">\n\t<div class=\"container\">\n\t\t<div class=\"row\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-12\">\n\t\t\t\t<p class=\"p1\">The sites Aracena 1, Aracena 5, and Aracena 9, which belong to the Chilean Salmon company Nova Austral, will have an audit conducted on <span class=\"s1\">26, 27<\/span>\u00a0 August <span class=\"s1\">and 1<sup>st<\/sup> September; <\/span>and 2<span class=\"s1\">8<\/span>-2<span class=\"s1\">9<\/span>, 31 August<span class=\"s1\"> and 2<sup>nd<\/sup> September;<\/span> and 24,25 and 31<sup>st<\/sup> August respectively\u00a0to\u00a0assess whether they meet the ASC salmon standard. The audit will be conducted by an independent company, in this case Control Union (CUP), as ASC operates a \u2018third-party\u2019 system and is not involved in assessments or certification decisions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The assessment process encourages and seeks the engagement of stakeholders. This ensures that CUP has access to all the most relevant information in support of their certification decision.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">If any individual or organization would like to submit information or comments about the sites under assessment as they relate to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/asc-aqua.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ASC-Salmon-Standard_v1.3_final.pdf\"><span class=\"s2\">ASC Salmon Standard<\/span><\/a>, they can either submit them before the audit or once that the draft audit report is published for a 15 day public comment period.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The comments should be submitted directly to the certification company according to the directions provided in the audit announcement.
