{"id":1004746,"date":"2016-02-01T14:15:18","date_gmt":"2016-02-01T14:15:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/asc-aqua.org\/?post_type=news&#038;p=4746&#038;source_id=4746&#038;target_id=1004746"},"modified":"2024-10-16T10:18:14","modified_gmt":"2024-10-16T08:18:14","slug":"multi-site-certification-methodology-is-out-for-public-consultation","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/asc-aqua.org\/news\/multi-site-certification-methodology-is-out-for-public-consultation\/","title":{"rendered":"Multi-site certification methodology is out for public consultation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"block wysiwyg\">\n\t<div class=\"container\">\n\t\t<div class=\"row\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-12\">\n\t\t\t\t<p><b>The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) has launched a 30-day public consultation for multi-site certification methodology.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Stakeholders are invited to have their say<span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> during a public comment period that runs between 1 February 2016 and 4 March 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">All comments will be considered before the launch of the new methodology in the second quarter of this year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Increased efficiency and safeguarded credibility<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The multi-site methodology was developed to enable companies owning five to 50 sites within the same jurisdiction to achieve certification for all locations in one go.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To qualify for multi-site certification, the organisation must have a central office managing the sites&#8217; compliance with the ASC standard through a documented management system.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A number of samples will be selected and audited by Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) using risk-assessment in combination with a random sampling approach.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The goal is to achieve the maximum level of assurance that is credible yet affordable, applied consistently across different farms and CABs. With this approach efficiency for both farms and the ASC will increase significantly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Multi-site is different from group certification. Each methodology has its own set of requirements.
